Happy New Year! I hope you have had a peaceful transition into the new year and are finding moments of calm in your daily life... I know this time of year is not easy for everyone so my message here today is the mantra I'm seeking to follow myself this year...
What can I do right now to mind myself?
To those of you who have been with me for a while, you'll know this is a continuation of my theme of last year (and the year before that 😉). The thing is, although I love to reset and get motivated to do something fresh at this time of the year, I'm not a fan of new year's resolutions. Bleh! The hell with them!! 😆
I'm more about reminding myself of what serves me and supports me in my life. So I said 'yes' to a 10m hike in the Wicklow hills, 'yes' to a walk by the sea and over Christmas week, although I felt low in energy and short of time, I said 'yes' to fun tennis for a break from all the 'doing'. The mere act of getting out to socialise with others, to move my body, to laugh, and to get some fresh air has helped me manage an otherwise stressful time for various reasons that are really not important to share.
So, ask yourself the question every day.... what can I do to mind myself today? What will I do as a priority for me? Or... just sing "What have you done today to make you feel proud?" by Heather Small (singer).

If you've been contemplating joining me for Chair Yoga I've a new 6-week course planned to start from Jan. 12th, until Feb. 23rd (no class Feb 2nd for St. Brigid's Day). Chair Yoga 6-Week Course - Reserve My Place!
If you've been considering learning how to mind your mind, manage your stress, or just how to integrate more moments of calm into your day, then this 8-week course is for you.
Together we spend 2 hours a week practicing mindfulness exercises through yoga, meditation, creativity, and nature. Homework is provided so you can start to include practices in your day to day, and build it up over the course of 2 months. Registration of interest for Sunday mornings from 10am to midday, throughout Feb and March. Full payment is required ahead of the start date, with registration closing a week before the start date. A minimum of 8 are required for the course to go ahead, with a maximum of 12 to each course. *Note: This is not a therapy course where you will be sharing details of what your stressors are, but rather how stress is affecting you and what you can do to alleviate the stress within your body and mind to function better, sleep better, and make the best choices for you in your life.
