In the world today, we're so overwhelmed with doing doing doing. We rarely get a chance to just BE. But when we're constantly moving, all the time doing things for ourselves or other people, we raise the levels of our stress and get overwhelmed. When this happens we're unable to gather ourselves, mind ourselves, let alone being able to mind others.
This affects everyone. Carers. Parent, sibling, a daughter or son. It is a manager, a colleague, a sports team player. This is all ages. This is when you're alone and still it feels like you're not.
This is what high levels of stress can feel like. No silence, no peace in your mind, and maybe even paralysis by analysis when it comes to making a decision.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction -- Shifting Your Mindset with Mindfulness
In April and May, on Friday mornings (except Good Friday), I will be hosting a world recognised and evidence-based course for managing stress and pain called the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course.
This course was designed by Jon Kabat-Zinn in the 70s for people who had reached the maximum threshold of their pain medications, and needed additional help to cope with their physical pain. Research then discovered that it also helped with emotional and mental suffering too.
Run over 8-weeks, 2-2.5 hours each week, we'll explore how stress works, but through creative and engaging ways to experience and learn how to mind ourselves. This will be fun, spacious, and engaging. Suitable to anyone who needs it -- just let's chat first to make sure it's the right thing for you right now.
When we mind ourselves, we can then mind others.
I'm thrilled to be able to host this in a new space in the fields of Malahide, Co. Dublin, overlooking beautiful fields, animals, and spacious skyline - Hidden Acres. This is a very special place with a family at the heart keeping horticulture and farming as their core. Imagine sitting in this space to learn, chat, and get some time to yourself each week to clear the mental clutter and experience some calm within.

Employers, Health Insurance, Social Prescribing
As this course is recognised in the medical field, more and more employers are providing supports to employees to attend and subsidise this course. If you'd like more information to discuss with your employer please just let me know.
Your health insurer may also provide subsidies towards MBSR and as a registered teacher with MTAI.ie, this reimbursement should be available with a certificate of attendance from me. *Please check directly with your health insurer.
Check with your doctor if they can socially prescribe this course to you and if supports are available in this way to you in your locality.
