Move More, Rest More, & Have Fun This Year! 💃🏻🧘🏻😴

You're probably wondering what sort of goals are these?!
Find what sport brings you joy (if you don't know yet, try out something new each week till you find it!), and commit to it for at least 3 months and have fun! Get to know others in the sport, make a new connection with the instructors/coaches, notice how when you love something and it brings you joy and how much it easier it is to then keep it up ❤️
Let's take for example darts -- Did you watch the Darts last week? How exciting and how much FUN were the spectators having? If you watched the Sky documentary on 'Game of Throws' (great name by the way 😁) you will see how the players struggle with repetitive strain injuries, physical tension, and the mental strength needed to 'perform' in front of crazy numbers of spectators, and extremely high energy environments... I could go on, but you get the idea.
Find your sport. Love your sport. And be unashamedly proud of participating, whatever that sport looks like.
If YOGA is for you, and you'd like to try Find Your Balance - Slow Flow Yoga 6-week course in-person, sign up now. Only a few places remaining. Starts Wednesday Jan. 22nd, 6.45pm Community Well Donabate.
Online Access to this course has separate drop-in and subscription availability.
(More on this throughout the year as I proudly work with Fingal Sports on bringing movement to community throughout the north county Dublin area).
Yes, rest. This was a lesson I learned many years ago when working in corporate, traveling often, socialising, exercising (always high impact to try to boost my dopamine (reward system) and lower cortisol (stress hormone).... I THOUGHT I was doing the right thing. But actually, I kept getting sick. Bad colds, aches and pains, flu, migraines, headaches, injuries. They kept coming. I'd get over one thing, and then boom, on came the next. Turned out increasing my adrenaline on an already overwrought nervous system was causing my system to collapse in exhaustion again and again. And I wasn't listening (to my body).
When I practiced Restorative Yoga the first time I cried (actual tears ran down my face from the relief). My body felt like it was gently shaking from the inside. That is the only way I can describe it. Inside and out my body needed rest.
I now prioritise a rest practice every single week. Every Monday night at 7.15pm Restorative Yoga online I host a class which is my own practice too. If you feel you could benefit, then sign up now. I will be limiting the numbers to this class so make sure to reserve your place each week.
If you're feeling stuck, or are searching for a creative way to approach your goals, options, or progress, then get in touch today. As an International Coaching Federation Coach, with an Associate Coaching Credential, with nearly 3 decades corporate management and leadership experience, I will work with you from a practical, client-led, mindful aspect to exploring your options.
Let's have fun with it! Message me through the Contact Form on the site.
Get in touch today! And here's to an active and joyful 2025 (with plenty of rest!)💃🏻😁💤
